The Brobdingnagian
Bards (pron. brAHb'ding-näg-EE-en)
are The Original Celtic Renaissance music duo from Austin, Texas. They
were voted the #2 Folk Band in the 2003 Austin Music Awards and #1 Novelty Band in the 2004 Austin Music Awards. They creatively
combine traditional Scotch-Irish songs with contemporary pub music to
create an inspired evening of Celtic fun.
Excalibur Fantasy Faire was our very first Medieval/Renaissance festival. It was
located on the grounds of Cavalier Dayes in Smithville, Texas, but its ownership
was not the same. The original Excalibur had a fantastic cast, staff, and one of the best list of performers at faires anywhere. This was not the enormous site found
at the Texas Renaissance Festival. You could about a hundred shops, and four stages,
and very personal interaction.
In the past, you could enjoy the entertainment of Bedlam Bards, O'Malarkey, Birds of a Feather, Pwy Wyt Ti, Owl Morrison, Scott Boswell, Hands of Fatima, The Shantyman, Jack Scratch, and the jousting of Noble Cause Productions.
Special Note: Brobdingnagian Bards Won't Be at Excalibur this Year
Just wanted to let everyone know that we will not be at Excalibur Fantasy Faire this year. It has changed ownership, management, and location so to us, it is like a new faire with the same name. We wanted to make this clear since we have received emails asking if we'll be there. We won't. But don't let that stop you from having a great time at the new faire.
Theme: A Medieval/Renaissance Festival based around the legends of King Arthur and
the Knights of the Round Table.
