In 1967, a group of friends gathered together to play board wargames. It was this weekend gathering that initiated an annual gathering that now draws over 25,000 people from around the world, known today as the Gen Con Game Fair.
Grandfather Mountain Highland Games
GMHG is a non-profit, non-stock corporation licensed under the laws of North Carolina to carry on and promote the annual Grandfather Mountain Highland Games and Gathering of Scottish Clans, to foster and restore interest in traditional dancing, piping, athletic achievement and Gaelic culture, and to create and establish scholarship funds to assist North American students of Scottish ancestry. Maryland Renaissance Festival
The Maryland Renaissance Festival is a recreation of a 16th century English village. Our village is named Revel Grove, and is set on a beautiful 25-acre wooded site with 85 acres of free parking. The village consists of craft and food booths, five pubs, eight major stages, a Jousting Arena and lots of games
North Georgia Celtic Festival
This festival is organized to promote, celebrate, and support the Celtic heritage, arts, and music in the North Georgia area. The event will feature two sound stages of live Celtic music, food concessions, arts and crafts vendors, informational booths, battle reenactment and activities and demonstrations relating to ancient and modern Celtic culture. Takes place first weekend of August.
