A Bard's Discount Houston Web Hosting Review
I've had a number of people ask me what web hosting service we use. Well, I finally wrote a brief article that lists all and with links to others. You can find quality, affordable web hosts for as low $4.95 per month.
An Unbiased SiteBuildIt Review
I've long been a supporter of Ken Envoy's SiteBuildIt. Ken Envoy is a brilliant marketer and seems to have created a program that offers a LOT of amazing tools for online marketers. So I was really excited when I met Dave Jackson from the Musician's Cyber Cooler. He told me he was using SiteBuildIt. So with a slight hidden agenda (an unbiased review of SiteBuildIt), I asked him what he thought of the program. This is what he sent back to me (and approved me to post it)
Auto Glass Repair in Austin
While driving back from Louisiana, Andrew and I got stuck behind a truck with pebbles flying. Before we knew it, there was a wee crack on the window. That we crack grew and grew. Next thing I knew, there was a huge crack across the car window. It was time to get it repaired.
Celtic Music: A Complete Guide Book Review
The first guide that charts Celtic music from its ancient roots through its modern performers Celtic music means many things to many people. To some, it recalls the Irish rebel songs of the Clancy Brothers, to others the ensemble playing of the Chieftains or Enya's ethereal vocals.
Choosing a Powershot S30 Digital Camera
Admittedly, I'm not an expert when it comes to choosing a digital camera. I chose my digital camera because my dad bought one and recommended it. But I am absolutely thrilled with the results!
DragonCon Highlight - Singing with The Last Unicorn
As much as I enjoyed seeing old friends and making new ones, I miss my kitties immensely. I miss the time to quietly relish my solitary home.
Dressed to Kilt... Novelty Music Interview from the Austin Chronicle
We were written up this week in an exclusive Austin Chronicle feature called "The 'N' Word" about Novelty bands in Austin. Read the full article here.
Grammy-Nominated Bagpipe Music
I love The Rogues. They were the band that taught me if you had pipes and drums, it wasn't just another bagpipe band. It was The Rogues. "RogueTrip" is the latest offering from this Grammy-Nominated Celtic music giant.
Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince
I just finished listening to the audio book version of Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince . Man! I was left in tears. This book continued where The Goblet of Fire left off. Great writing!
How to Keep Your Ezine from Being Spam Assassinated
I'm a huge fan of SpamAssassin. I have many websites and all of my servers use it. It cuts out about 80% of the crap heading to my inbox. And while I do lose a few newsletters, it's worth it.
I got the The Limeybirds CD
Yay. I got a new CD from the The Limeybirds today at the Kansas City Renaissance Festival. I got it for my Renaissance Festival Podcast . My co-host, Kristen, loves there music as much as I do.
Opus Fantasy Arts Festival Review
Wow! I had an absolutely amazing time at Opus Fantasy Arts
Festival in Denver, Colorado. This year was a zillion times
better than last with a great new hotel, well-organized events,
concerts, and lots of great sessions. You wouldn't imagine Irish
sessions at Fantasy convetion, but I'm sure everyone would agree
that craic was hot this weekend!
Return of the King LOTR Review
Before we look at the trilogy as a whole, we should give the third movie its individual due and see if it completes or hinders the epic. This movie is definitely a worthy conclusion to the series and in a difficult genre; this movie not only delivers depth and entertainment but was awarded a Best Picture Oscar as well.

Serenity Movie
Oh wow! I just saw Serenity at the Alamo Drafthouse Rolling Roadshow. It was amazing... and shocking.
Serious Kitchen CDs make those Kitchen Utensils Rattle
Last week, I ordered the rest of the serious kitchen CDs from their website. In general, I don't prefer to order music from overseas websites, but I made an exception, because this is, IMHO, one of the best Celtic music groups today who smoothly fuse traditional Celtic music with contemporary finesses. They are amazing.
Solas at the One World Theatre
Ye know, one of the really big advantages of being on the board of the Austin Celtic Association happened last night. I was attending the ACA Board Meeting when Celtic Storm radio host, Donnelle McKaskle, came in with some free tickets to see Solas last night. So I grabbed one and went.
The Quiet Bard - Irish Movie Reviews
Ah, what a wonderful evening last night. I finally got to see The Quiet Man and also got to see Waking Ned Divine at the Alamo Drafthouse thanks to The Gaelic League of Austin. It was a wonderful wee evening of Irish movies and some Gaelic lessons.
