Andrew's Bardic Commentary
Andrew writes about our music and our instruments and where we fit in the music scene. This is a broad topic so I am going to do it in three parts. The site has some info about us already but I wanted to give a little detail for those interested in more than just listening to our songs.

Bardic Lessons: The Fifteen Minute Lifestyle
When it comes to dedicating myself to getting something done, it is a bare. I seem to have a history of planning and planning and not quite getting stuff done. There never seems to be enough time. That is why over the last few months I've adopted the Fifteen Minute Lifestyle.
Bards in the Studio
Marc and I finally got into the studio again. We have been planning this for a while now and plan to work on a Irish CD and a Faire CD. We started by writing 2 songs in the studio and recording 5 different versions of "If I Had a Million Ducats." January 22, 2001.

Bards on the UT South Mall
In November, 1998, I got a temp job in the Tower at the University of Texas at Austin. My plan was to follow in the footsteps of Austin's college rock phenomena, David Garza. Give students a daily dose of live music.
Bard of the Fey, music for Elves, Pixies, Sprites, and other Fey Folk
The weather outside is just delicious. It's cool with a fresh breeze blowing. It was amazing there weren't more folks out at Texas Ren Fest this weekend. The weather was just perfect.
Busking and Street Performing
I've tried to do some research on busking and street performing, but interestingly enough, not many people seem to write about it. Busking FAQ are not easy to find. Busking laws are even more difficult. I've gone all over the red tape in Austin trying to find out the laws, and they are poorly laid out at best. Then again, maybe that's for the best.

Learning How to Write Songs in the Folk Tradition
The first song I ever wrote was a song called 'Bumble Bee'. Nothing fancy. It was a 50s style a cappella song that pretty much repeated that word over and over.
Marc's Tales: A Day On The South Mall
We had another fantastic Bard Bubble Day out on the South Mall at UT today. It was a cool day. What is Filk Music?
About three years ago, Andrew and I were performing at a wedding held at the Texas Renaissance Festival for Jack Scratch and wife. And with a bright smile Jack said, "I love that you guys play filk."
"Huh? Filk? What's that?"
"You don't know what filk is? It's the type music you play."
