In 1999, two college friends joined together to perform at Excalibur Fantasy Faire as the Brobdingnagian Bards. Combining traditional Celtic folk songs with Tolkien-esque instrumentals and a tongue-in-cheek comedy, the Brobdingnagian Bards developed an incredible following which truly exploded in January 2001 when they joined MP3.com and their song "Tolkien (The Hobbit & Lord of the Rings)" launched up to the top of charts where it continues to hold a #1 status on the Celtic music charts.
